      The article presents a case study of a 23-year-old female in minimally conscious state (MCS). Topics discussed include consciousness disorders such as coma resulting from heart attack and brain injury, correlation between metabolic activity in the posterior medial parietal complex (PMC) and recovering consciousness, relevance of anterior forebrain for regulation of arousal levels and allocation of attention and deep-brain stimulation (DBS) used on the patient.
