      The author discusses the changes in the correctional system for the past 50 years, also the number of years he has been involved with the system. Changes discussed include the requirement for formal training, the presence of female workers and tasks performed, and the training method for staff. Other changes include salary and designation, forms of punishments, and the presence of corruption. The role of the American Correctional Association (ACA) in improving the system is also discussed.
