      The article discusses research which indicates that unsupportive social interactions associated with poorer self-reported health in Israeli patients with diabetes, and it mentions how negative dimensions of social support such as interference and insensitivity impact Arabs and Jews in Israel. A diabetes management type of lifestyle is examined, along with telephone interviews involving diabetics. Population research and the Maccabi Healthcare Services organization are assessed.
