- Abstract:
The article discusses the author's views about how to motivate students and faculty members in the U.S. to engage in public health research that is designed to improve health outcomes in America. According to the article, public health research of consequence should focus on health risks and threats that are the greatest sources of morbidity, mortality, and health care costs. The ethical aspects of university-based public health research are assessed, along with big data and communication.
