      The article presents the author's views on the economic condition of California. Some 62 percent of state roads have been rated poor or mediocre and the rate of California state taxes among the highest in the U.S. Almost a quarter of the state population lives below or near the poverty line and the state depends on a tiny elite class for about half of its income tax revenue.
