    • Abstract:
The article presents a discussion on knowledge and moral choice. In this article the author tries to explore the influence of the increase of knowledge in the social sciences on the clarification of moral principles related to the training of teachers and social workers. Clearly there is a relationship between growth of knowledge and moral principles and in some ways the area of possible conflict between established moral principles and new found knowledge. It is perhaps greater in the physical sciences than it is in the social sciences, but whatever the relationship is to be it is quite certain that the influence of the increase in knowledge on moral principles is a fundamental issue for society as a whole. The emphasis on the uncertainty surrounding the existence of a body of knowledge loosely termed social science is not just a rhetorical opening gambit. It is an acknowledgement of the fact, that even now there is not universal acceptance nor indeed a consensus of opinion either of the existence or of the extent of a body of knowledge which entitles it to a distinctive title.
