The article examines the impact of economic sanctions on economies as of December 2015. Several economic sanctions imposed by nations against another countries are analyzed including the U.S' sanctions against Cuba that interfered in Cuba's foreign investment. The history of economic sanctions are discussed as well as the United Nations Charter that alows the Security Council to implement sanctions in respond to aggression. Also tackled are the effectiveness of the sanctions in effecting political changes, the council's decision to restrict sale of gods to or from Iraq, humanitarian monitoring.
