Kinship Transition and Political Polarization: The Spread of Radicalism in the Swiss Alps.

The article examines the increase of kin marriages in Europe and the spread opf radicalism in Switzerland from the mid-18th to 20th centuries. It explores the relationship between kin marriages and building of different political milieus that influenced the increase of these marriages. It also discusses the kind of men and women involved in kin marriages, and the frequency of close-cousin marriages that took place within a homogeneous political milieu.
