Annotated listing of new books.

This article presents information regarding the book "African Development Report, 1997," which was prepared by African Development Bank. This book focuses on recent socioeconomic performance in Africa by reviewing various policy issues regarding economic developments, specially for private sectors. It describes issues of policies reforms for public sector enterprises and the transfer of public sector activities to the private sector through privatization. It describes a framework for strengthening the financial system with policies of financing of small and medium-sized enterprises. The book is designed with the role of African Development Bank in developing agenda for public sector enterprises.
