- Abstract:
The article presents the study which showed that the pre-treatment with an anti-platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) prior to anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) therapy in patients with treatment-resistant neovascular age-related macular degeneration (AMD) resulted in improved visual acuity. The study was conducted by Doctor Pravin U. Dugel of Retinal Consultants of Arizona. In the study, the patients were analyzed using such techniques as optical coherence tomography (OCT).
