      The article focuses on the comparison of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) the tenofovir (TFV) and emtricitabine (FTC) concentrations between patients receiving protease inhibitors (PIs) atazanavir (ATV) and darunavir (DRV). It states that TFV may have difficulty penetrating the CSF-brain barrier due to low lipophilicity for efflux membrane transporters. It mentions that the participants in the DRV arm had significantly higher plasma FTC concentrations than ATV arm.
