    • Abstract:
An U.S. student won a silver medal at the 35th International Chemistry Olympiad last July. Three other U.S. students won bronze medals. The four U.S. competitors were chosen last year from among 20 students who took part in a two-week study camp sponsored by the U.S. Chemical Society. The training camp prepared the students for the international contest, which had two parts, a five-hour written chemistry exam and a five-hour laboratory test. Iran and Thailand each won three gold medals and a silver, and India and South Korea each won two gold medals and two silvers.
