    • Abstract:
      The article focuses on issue related to patriotism, loyalty and treason in the U.S. The problem with treason is reflected in the nature of individualism prevalent within the Western society. The scandal of Watergate has played an important role in the erosion of the notion of loyalty to country. It is viewed that multiculturalism has made it difficult for the common man to express his faith in the U.S. as a singular country. Apart from multiculturalism, internationalism has been another reason for the demise of loyalty and patriotism.
