An essay is presented on restrictionist state. It discusses the consequences of the restriction of legal immigration on issues such as race, class and gender. The author mentions the U.S. law which was allegedly a de facto ban on the entry of the "Negro Race" in the U.S. It discusses the Johnson-Reed Act of 1924 on quotas by country of origin that reduced British Caribbean immigrants to the U.S. and policies on family reunification policy.
