Environmental Friendly Services in Sport Centres Investigating Greek students’ perceptions. (English)
    • Abstract:
The present study investigated Greek male/female students' perceptions on sport centers that provide environmentally friendly services. Specifically investigated possible differences between students with different-sex and students that participate or not participate in sport and exercise activities. The sample consisted of 300 students (103 men and 197 women) that completed a questionnaire which included the following scales: "Compliance of a sports center with Environmentally Friendly Services", ”Eco Friendly Policy in Greece", “Predisposition for adoption habits environmentally friendly" (Kouthouris & Kontogianni, 2013) and "WOM communication” (Zeithaml et al. (1996). The t-test analysis between students with different sex showed statistical significant differences in all scales (p <. 01) with women scored higher than men. Statistical significant differences were appeared in ‘participation or nonparticipation in exercise activities’ in “predisposition to adopt environmentally friendly habits” and “WOM Communication” scales (p <0.1) where students who did exercise scored higher. Concluding results supported that women students and students overall who did sports express a higher intention to select sports centers that provide or intend to provide environmentally friendly services in future.
