U.S. Seriously Lags in Chip Card Use, Putting Merchants at Risk.

The article reports that in the U.S. use of Europay, MasterCard, and Visa (EMV)-equipped payment cards for transactions is very less despite of its security benefits. It mentions that majority of U.S. merchants don't have knowledge about the EMV liability shift and risk of fraudulent transactions associated with it. It states on the reasons behind lower chip card adoption including lack of interest from merchants in any kind of change in selling process and it is unfamiliar for customers.
