CHARACTERIZATION AND USES OF THE QUANTITATIVE TECHNIQUES FOR RISK ASSESSMENT IN INDUSTRIAL CHEMICAL PROCESSES.

In this work, the main quantitative techniques for technological risk assessment in industrial chemical processes are studied, classified and categorized. It is specified that these techniques are the most useful to evaluate, in a comparative way, the design alternatives, operations and maintenance. It is specified that these techniques are able to assign occurrence values to the identified different risks, that is to say, to calculate the level of risk of the different stages of the project. In addition, it enumerates all those techniques that present a bigger use frequency as well as the dangers they identify and the results they give. In function of the grade of complexity of the analysis technique, their use is linked with the different stages of the life of the industrial projects/processes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

En este trabajo se estudian, clasifican y categorizan las principales técnicas cuantitativas de valoración de riesgos tecnológicos en los procesos químicos industriales. Se especifica que estas técnicas son las más útiles para evaluar de forma comparativa las alternativas de diseño, operaciones y mantenimiento. Se detalla las posibilidades de las técnicas cuantitativas para asignar valores de ocurrencia a los diferentes riesgos identificados, es decir, calcular el nivel de riesgo tecnológico de las diferentes etapas del proyecto. Además, se enumeran las técnicas que presentan una mayor frecuencia de uso, así como los riesgos que evalúan y los resultados que brindan. Se vincula la utilización de cada método, en función del grado de complejidad de la técnica de análisis, con las diferentes etapas de la vida de los proyectos/procesos industriales.
