      The article discusses the enactment of national laws by India and Brazil to conserve the biological diversity and to ensure the sustainable use of the biological resources following the United Nations Rio Convention on Biological Diversity. It mentions the enactment of the Biological Diversity Act, 2002 by India with the set up of National Biodiversity Authority. It adds that the Brazilian law will replace the older Provisional Act and come in effect by November 2015.
