The article discusses access of students with disabilities to state assessments in English language arts (ELA) and Mathematics in the U.S. Topics discussed include an alternate assessment based on alternate achievement standards (AA-AAS) for students with severe intellectual disabilities, use of test accommodations for improving access of such students to state assessments, and need to charge individualized education program (IEP) team to apply proper test accommodations with new regulations.
