Reports that the Supreme Court of Canada ruled that people could be held criminally responsible if they have unprotected sex and do not tell their partners they have AIDS or other dangerous sexually transmitted diseases. The court's unanimous decision; Trial for Squamish, British Columbia resident Henry Cuerrier, who had unprotected sex with the knowledge that he was infected with the AIDS virus.
