In partnership with Singapore Airlines Ltd., Boeing Crew Information Services has begun field testing the functionality of its wireless gatelink technology at Changi Airport. The effort is part of Boeing's broad push to become a service provider of wireless applications, most notably the Electronic Flight Bag (EFVB), which provides flight crews with a built-in computerized application for aircraft and operating manuals. EFB is tied to another of Boeing's service initiatives, the Connexion by Boeing in-flight Internet system that provides passengers and crew with a broadband satellite link.
