The article looks at methodological issues associated with the collection of statistics on health care in the U.S. Topics mentioned include history of the U.S. National Committee on Vital and Health Statistics which was formed in 1949, a background of the National Survey Act of 1956 which aims to implement surveys that cover various data required for developing a comprehensive national health program, and updates to the National Health Interview Survey.
