      The article describes the restorative justice program in Oakland Unified School District (USD) on instilling discipline through making amends for mishbehavior instead of student suspensions. Topics covered include restorative justice as alternative to zero tolerance policy with teachers conducting restorative justice meetings with disresptectful students. Also cited are positive results such as 87% less suspensions at Oakland USD, decreased absenteeism and higher graduation rates.
