    • Abstract:
The article presents a case study of a premature born child with hydranencephaly. The child underwent a procedure to limit cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) production and the allow for a natural death (AND) order was rescinded perioperatively due to cultural and language barriers. The child died after vigorous resuscitation due to intracranial bleeding. The article discusses the practical and ethical issues in using AND orders and limiting aggressive resuscitative measures in an operation.
