IMPACT OF EU LEGISLATION ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL INSURANCE.

Pro-environmental actions have been reflected in many areas and have evolved over the last several years. The problem of environmental damage began to be more and more noticeable in the social and economic life, and that is why it was decided to take it on the basis of international regulations. A huge impact on the nature of the observed effects of environmental protection and the prevention of damage to the environment was the introduction of the Directive 2004/35/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 21 April 2004 (ELD) on environmental liability with regard to the prevention and remedying the environmental damage. Działania prośrodowiskowe miały swoje odzwierciedlenie na wielu obszarach i ewoluowały w ciągu ostatnich kilkunastu lat. Problem szkód środowiskowych zaczął być coraz mocniej zauważalny w życiu społecznym i gospodarczym, dlatego postanowiono zająć się nim na bazie regulacji międzynarodowych. Ogromny wpływ na charakter obserwowanych działań ochrony środowiskowej i przeciwdziałaniu szkodom w środowisku naturalnym miało wprowadzenie dyrektywy 2004/35/WE Parlamentu Europejskiego i Rady z dnia 21 kwietnia 2004 r. (zwanej dalej dyrektywą ELD) w sprawie odpowiedzialności za środowisko w odniesieniu do zapobiegania i zaradzania szkodom wyrządzonym środowisku naturalnemu. Dyrektywa ta w sposób wyraźny wpływała na branżę ubezpieczeniową w kontekście oferowanej ochrony ubezpieczeniowej. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
