    • Abstract:
The article discusses an international study by Tanya Luhrmann and colleagues in the January 2015 issue of the "British Journal of Psychiatry" that found culture affects the tones of the voices heard by people with schizophrenia. The study showed that Americans with schizophrenia tended to have hallucinations of disembodied voices that were hostile, while people in India and Ghana reported positive relationships with hallucinated voices.
