      The article reports on research which was conducted to investigate the effect using a validated end-stage renal disease (ESRD) risk calculator had on ESRD risk prediction in a population of patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Researchers evaluated 226 CKD patients. They found that the risk calculator resulted in 42% of patients being categorized as low risk and 61% of oldest old patients being classified as low risk.
