WANDO MOUNT PLEASANT LIBRARY — Join us as the Metropolitan Opera’s 2022–23 Live in HD season kicks off with Cherubini’s drama Medea

Not only is this rarely performed drama a new production, but it is also the first time the Met has ever staged this opera. Soprano Sondra Radvanovsky will star as the titular mythic sorceress who will stop at nothing in her quest for vengeance.

The production is directed by David McVicar, who also designed the sets, with Carlo Rizzi on the podium. Mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato will host the live transmission.

Medea is sung in Italian, with subtitles, and runs approximately 3 hours and 10 minutes. METinee guests are welcome to bring camp chairs for their viewing comfort.
