- Abstract:
The article presents information on a study on the comparison between short-term and long-term antiarrhythmic drug treatment after cardioversion of atrial fibrillation. The patients were randomly assigned in the blocks of six including no antiarrhythmic drug treatment, treatment with flecainide for four weeks and flecainide for six months. Findings conclude that short-term antiarrhythmic drug treatment is less effective than the long-term treatment. INSET: Panel: Research in context.
