The article focuses on advertising regulation and consumer protection in Spain. The author emphasizes the importance of cooperative action among lawyers, reporters and advertisers in the ethical interpretation and application of advertising law. The author elaborates on legislation in Spain pertaining to advertising and consumers, including the general law for the defense of consumers, general advertising law and unfair competition law. The issues pertaining to advertising as news, persuasive advertising and the advertising message as a binding offer are discussed.
