- Abstract:
This editorial discusses the appropriate regulation of endocrine-disrupting chemicals found in plastics used for food storage. The bioaccumulation of chemicals including bisphenol-A (BPA), phthalates, and polyvinyl chloride is described in terms of their hormone mimicking properties. The standard of proof required to ban a ubiquitous chemical such as BPA is criticized.
