    • Abstract:
The article focuses on the contribution of author Gordon Lish to the evolution of American fiction. Lish became the epicenter of American literary publishing since he edits a fair number of young novelists and story writers. Joe David Bellamy suggests in his essay "A Downpour of Literary Republicanism," that Lish is an institution in some ways as important as the "New Yorker."
