- Additional Information
- Abstract:
A 66-year-old woman developed Stevens Johnson syndrome (SJS) while being treated with ceftriaxone for a Klebsiella Pneumoniae infection. Prior to this, she had a history of frequent nephrolithiasis and was scheduled for lithotripsy. After undergoing stone removal and stent placement, she was diagnosed with the infection and started on ceftriaxone. However, on the second day of treatment, she developed severe dryness and cracking of the oral mucosa, leading to a diagnosis of SJS. Ceftriaxone was discontinued and the woman eventually improved with the use of ciprofloxacin. [Extracted from the article]
