- Abstract:
Delta Waterfowl's Predator Management program aims to increase duck production by managing predators in the prairie pothole region during nesting season. The organization has expanded its program to a record 46 sites in 2024, with the goal of producing one million ducks annually. The program focuses on areas where the predator/prey balance is skewed, as changes in land use and agriculture have led to an overabundance of predators like raccoons and skunks, which destroy up to 90% of duck nests. By expanding Predator Management, Delta Waterfowl hopes to increase the number of ducks that migrate south each year. [Extracted from the article]
