    • Abstract:
Albania has reported its first case of African swine fever (ASF) in the country. The virus was detected in two infected wild boar carcasses in Kukës county, which is near the Kosovo and North Macedonia borders. The source of the infection is currently unknown. Measures such as carcass disposal, disinfection, and zoning have been implemented. This is the 28th European country to confirm the presence of ASF since 2007. Other countries, including Italy, Poland, Estonia, and Norway, have implemented strategies to control the wild boar population as a means to combat ASF. [Extracted from the article]
