    • Abstract:
This article explores the role of chance in biologist Charles Darwin's ideas about evolution. It depicts the similarities of humans with animals and the ways that evolutionary change can be perceived. Debates about design vs. chance are instead about something deeper: a fear among many of us that human life has no meaning if chance has played a role in our origins, no value if the destiny of evolution is not solely about us.
