      The article presents information on demography, government, economy and defense of Chile. The population of Chile is 15.823,957. It occupies an area of 2,006,626 square kilometers. Spanish is the main language spoken in Brazil. The legal system of Chile is based on Spanish law with influences from French and Austrian law. The President, elected by popular vote, is both the Head of State and Government. The President is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
