    • Abstract:
Recently, the European society of Cardiology (ESC) announced the new guidelines for the prevention and management of cardiovascular disease, hypertension, coronary disease and dyslipidaemia especially in diabetic patients. Comparing with previous guidelines, there are stricter targets for management of lipids, arterial pressure and moreover, new therapeutic antidiabetic agents are preferable for patients with cardiovascular disease. This is the third set of Guidelines produced by the ESC in collaboration with the European Association for the study of Diabetes (EASD), designed to provide guidance on the management and prevention of cardiovascular disease in subjects with, and at risk of developing, diabetes mellitus.
