From the beginning of development on EA Sports Fight Night 2004, the goal was to change the way boxing games were played. For years, the boxing game genre had become stale and boring. Boxing fans were disappointed in the games as were sports gamers, fighting game fans, and, well just about everyone. In order to get people interested in the boxing game genre again, there is a need to change the way the games were played. Hence, this article tackles an innovative control system called the Total Punch Control that could very well enhance the gameplay of other genres and styles of play.
