CIRCULATION SERVICES MANAGER/LIBRARIAN IV - MAIN LIBRARY:
Full time. The Circulation services manager will be a major contributor in the implementation of $108 million capital projects plan approved by voters that includes system wide technology upgrades and implementation of RFID. Provides overall management for the Circulation Services Department; oversees system wide circulation policies and procedures and effectively resolves related issues and problems; interprets and communicates to public and staff regarding policies/procedures. Works with the ILS Librarian and Training Specialist to provide system wide training on new technologies; provides ILS training for staff; collaborates with the Systems Department on ILS upgrades; manages the system-wide floating procedures; conducts monthly meetings with circulation managers and/or branch managers; serves as night supervisor for Main Library as assigned. Other duties as assigned. Evening and weekend work included. 

Must have demonstrated leadership skills and ability to motivate others to meet establish goals; demonstrated knowledge of modern circulation technologies and techniques; strong experience working with consultants and/or vendors in designing and implementing RFID systems preferred. Strong computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn and use new methods, policies and technical advances as they arise. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to create and deliver training, ability to demonstrate good judgment, ability to deliver exemplary customer experiences; strong supervisory skills; ability to support and actively promote team members and team activities. Bilingual - English/Spanish a plus. Must be flexible to assume additional responsibilities as needed to maintain departmental operation. Must be able to lift books, AV equipment, program materials weighing up to fifty (50) pounds. Must have the stamina for periods of walking, standing, sitting, reaching, bending, kneeling and stooping. Eligible for or hold South Carolina State Library certification. A valid South Carolina driver's license with a safe driving record. REQUIREMENTS: ALA accredited MLS degree with four (4) years post MLS professional progressively more responsible experience in a public library to include supervisory or related experience in a public library. LIBRARIAN IV/REGIONAL BRANCH MANAGER - MT. PLEASANT REGIONAL:
Full time position. Management responsibility for a Regional Library and oversight of three (3) branches within the geographical cluster to foster cooperation, training, shared programming and staffing. Must work with the Deputy Director, other Regional Branch Managers and Department Heads to help achieve the goals adopted by the Library Board of Trustees in the Strategic Plan. Must be library advocate devoted to providing excellent customer service to the community. Must have the ability to exercise leadership and be able to motivate others to achieve these goals. Must be able to train and supervise staff and possess the necessary tact to motivate staff to be the best they can be. Ability to write concise reports, analyze community needs, the needs of the collection, the effectiveness of services and be able to communicate those needs to the appropriate departments and supervisors. Must be flexible and able to assume any additional responsibilities to maintain branch operation. Must have extensive knowledge of library principles, trends and administration; knowledgeable of Children's Circulation and Reference services. Must be computer literate and knowledgeable in various computer software - Microsoft Word, Excel and Publisher a plus. Experience with SIRSI ILS preferred. Bilingual - English/Spanish a plus. Evening and weekend work included. Other duties as assigned. Must have the stamina for periods of standing, sitting, walking, reaching, bending, stooping and kneeling. REQUIREMENTS: ALA accredited Master of Library Science degree and four (4) years post masters professional library experience in a public library with two (2) of those years in a supervisory capacity. Eligible for or hold South Carolina State Library certification. A valid South Carolina driver's license with a safe driving record. LIBRARY ASSISTANT III - CIRCULATION SUPERVISOR - JAMES ISLAND BRANCH:
Full time position. Supervises branch paraprofessional support staff. Basic knowledge of materials and modern library organization, procedures, policies, aims and services. Must have good understanding of library tasks, ability to get along well with others and to communicate pleasantly and effectively with general public and library staff. Carries out procedures set by Supervisory staff; help patrons locate materials; performs circulation duties; assist in training staff in SIRSI circulation functions; issues library cards; may be responsible for aspects of program planning and implementation. Performs public service desk duties and a variety of other duties such as Reader's Advisory, Children's and Reference inquiries and other duties within the department including but not limited to routine library functions; specific duties (claims return, lost and paid, damaged materials, etc.) and general clerical work. Must be computer literate and knowledgeable in various computer software; Microsoft Word, Excel and Publisher a plus. Must be detail oriented; must be a team player and flexible to assume additional responsibilities as needed to maintain branch operation. Bilingual - English/Spanish a plus. High aptitude for library service; thorough understanding of basic aims and services of libraries; good judgment; initiative; resourcefulness; accuracy; tact; ability to get along well with others; ability to communicate effectively and pleasantly with the general public and library staff. Other duties as assigned. Evening and weekend work included. Must have the stamina for periods of walking, standing, sitting, reaching, bending, kneeling and stooping. May also be required to shelve library materials, push book cart weighing approximately fifty (50) to one hundred (100) pounds. A valid South Carolina driver's license with a safe driving record. REQUIREMENTS: High School graduate with two (2) years of prior related experience preferably in a public library. Hiring Salary Range: $26,332.80 - $29,640.00 annually depending on qualifications. Closing date: July 15, 2015.

P/T LIBRARY ASSISTANT I - CIRCULATION SERVICES - MAIN LIBRARY:
Part time entry level positions - twenty (20) hours per week. Perform routine circulation desk duties under professional supervision; carries out procedures set by supervisory staff; help patrons locate materials. Basic clerical and general office work. Must be computer literate in various computer software - Microsoft Word, Excel and Publisher a plus. Must be flexible to assume additional responsibilities as needed to maintain branch/departmental operations. Shelving library materials may also be required. Ability to get along well with others, ability to communicate effectively and pleasantly with the general public and library staff. Prior library experience helpful but not necessary. Bilingual - English/Spanish a plus. Other duties as assigned. Evening and weekend work included. Must be able to lift book crates weighing up to approximately fifty (50) pounds and/or push book carts weighing up to approximately one hundred (100) pounds. A valid South Carolina driver's license with a safe driving license with a safe driving record. Hiring Salary Range: $10.09 - $11.03 per hour depending on qualifications. Closing date: July 15, 2015.

LIBRARY PAGES - CHILDREN'S SERVICES - MAIN LIBRARY:
The duties of this position include but are not limited to shelving library materials; basic maintenance of the collection and premises. Other duties as assigned. Must have the stamina for periods of walking, standing, reaching, bending, stooping and kneeling. Must be able to lift book crates weighing up to approximately fifty (50) pounds and push book carts weighing up to approximately one hundred (100) pounds. Weekend work included. MINIMUM AGE IS SIXTEEN (16) YEARS OLD. Salary: $7.55 per hour - fifteen (15) hours per week. Closing date: July 15, 2015.
