From Downtown:
Take Hwy. 17 North across the Ravenel Bridge into Mt. Pleasant. From the Bridge, exit onto Coleman Blvd. Just past the shops for the Commons (on the left), take the right fork to Whilden St. The Library is on the second block on the left.

From West Ashley:
Take Hwy. 17N through downtown and over the Ravenel Bridge. From the Bridge, exit onto Coleman Blvd. Just past the shops for the Commons (on the left), take the right fork to Whilden St. The Library is on the second block on the left.

From Folly Beach and James Island:
Take Folly Road to the James Island Connector (Hwy. 30). Follow signs to Charleston. Exit to West Lockwood Drive. Turn right toward Hwy. 17 North and proceed to Mt. Pleasant over the Ravenel Bridge. From the Bridge, exit onto Coleman Blvd. Just past the shops for the Commons (on the left), take the right fork to Whilden St. The Library is on the second block on the left.

From the North area:

The Village Library, originally called the Mt. Pleasant Library, opened on June 19, 1931. It was first housed in a single room next to the post office. Funds for a new building on Whilden St. in downtown Mt. Pleasant were obtained through public contributions raised by the Mt. Pleasant Exchange Club and from funds from the Charleston County Legislative Delegation and the Town of Mt. Pleasant. The new building was opened on August 2, 1948. Local organizations contributed gifts of funds for books and the Mt. Pleasant Garden Club undertook the beautification and maintenance of the grounds. The Town of Mt. Pleasant has contributed funds for books, and for building maintenance.

The collection size is 15,400 volumes and in FY2006, the Village Library circulated nearly 50,000 items.
